f(x) fans will soon be able to see one of their beloved idols on the big screen!

According to SM Entertainment, f(x) member Sulli was recently casted for the upcoming film “Pirates.” This will be her first film project in five years, as the last film she starred in was “Babo (Fool)” in 2008.

Set in the Joseon dynasty, “Pirates” will tell the story of a group of bandits and pirates who are hunting for a whale. Hailed as the Korean version of the Disney film “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Pirates” is rumored to be a large-scale production as approximately ten billion won has already been spent on the film’s creation.

Boasting an all-star cast, “Pirates” will not only feature Sulli, but also other popular actors such as Kim Namgil and Son Yejin, both of whom have acted in the recent popular drama “Shark.” An impressive production staff for “Pirates” has also been assembled, and director Lee Sukhoon, whose works include the highly acclaimed Korean film “Dancing Queen,” will be directing “Pirates.”
